Statement of Faith

God - We believe that God has revealed Himself as the Eternal Creator of all things and the Redeemer of mankind. He is manifested in the Old Testament as the Father, manifested Himself in the Gospels in the Son, Jesus, and revealed Himself in the Book of Acts as the Holy Spirit. Three dispensations of the same God: God above us, God with us, God in us (Matt 28:19, Gen 1:1, Is 43:11).

The Bible - We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God. In them we find the final authority for all Christian faith and practice. (2 Tim 3:15-17, Hebr 4:12)

Jesus Christ - We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, the virgin birth, the sin free life of Jesus, his teaching and miracles. We believe He died on the cross as a redeeming sacrifice through His blood. We believe in His resurrection from the dead, ascendance into Heaven, and is now at the right hand of the Father as our high Priest and Advocate. We believe in His returning in power and glory. (Matt 1:23)  

Mankind - We believe in that all man have sinned and lost the glory of God and the fellowship with Him. We believe in Salvation only by faith and not by works and good deeds and it has been given by God by grace. Man can only receive this grace through believing in the redemptive death of Jesus Christ on the cross. (Rom 3:23, Eph 2:8-9) 

The Baptism in Water - We believe in the baptism of the believer in water. It is an act of full obedience to show both the physical and the spiritual world that the believer has decided to follow Jesus for the rest of his/her life.  

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit - We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit for all believers with the following sign of speaking in tongues. (Acts 2:1-4)  

The Life of the Believer - We believe in the possibility and the necessity for the believer of living a holy and sanctified life that glorifies God, through the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit. We believe it is every believer’s responsibility to follow the Great Command of Jesus to preach the Gospel to all creation, drive out evil spirits and lay hands upon the sick etc. Christian faith shall be expressed in all areas of life, helping people with spiritual, social and materialistic needs. (Mark 16:15-18)  

The Devil - We believe there is an evil force whose head is the devil who does everything he can to hinder people from getting to know and enjoying God. The devil is defeated by Jesus on the cross and will at the end of time be thrown into the lake of fire, also called hell, which real purpose is for him and his demons and not for human beings unless they that chose to follow him. (Eph 2:1-10)  

The End of Time - We believe that the return of Jesus is close and that in the end of time there will be a judgement where the believers will be acquitted through the acceptance of the redeeming death of Jesus, and they will live eternally with Him in Heaven. For those who chose not to believe in Jesus will live eternally with the devil and his demons in hell.   

The Church - We believe in the church – the body of Christ. The true church is the composition of all those who have been born again. Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church. It is a place to worship God, for a sound biblical teaching and training, fellowship and support, admonishing, deliverance and intercessor prayer for every human being. We believe that the church needs to consist of the “Five fold ministry” which is apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher. Both men and women are saved to serve God with their God-given gift. (Eph 1:22-23, Eph 4:11-12)

The headquarters for World Flaming Gospel Ministires is in Nigeria and has existed since 1983 through the president and founder Elijah Adegunle who has the call as an apostle of Jesus Christ.

He received a divine call by God and went from part-time pastor and banker to full-time minister, God said: “Go and resign your appointment, take up your cross and follow me, for scarcely could I find 2 percent of the whole world population in Christ, where I would love to find them.” Then God gave him the ministry “World Flaming Gospel Crusaders".

Elijah obeyed and started the ministry and ever since been vibrant and burning for Christ in Nigeria. He is available to ministration all over the world upon invitation, for the edification of the entire body of Christ.

Joseph Adegunle is one of the sons of the general overseer and has been working as a full-time minister since 1996 with the church in Nigeria.

During a special conference Joseph received a strong prophetic word of God. The ministering prophet had no idea who Joseph was and during the service he spoke out: “Who is Joseph Adegunle? I can hear his name.”Joseph stood up and the prophet said: “The Lord is telling me that He has made you an international minister and whether you struggle for it or not it will come to pass. People will call you from all over the world to come and minister”. That was when his international ministry's mandat was comfirmed.

Merete is the wife of Joseph and she is a warm believer with a heart burning for God. She works as a nurse and has many years experience from social and evangelistic mission. Joseph and Merete are blessed with wonderful children and the family are based in Uppsala, Sweden.

The year 2004 God spoke to him to start a worship center, a branch of WFGC Int. in Sweden, Gospelkyrkan. The ministry is focused on global world evangelisation, deliverance, intercessory prayers, counselling and Christ discipleship. Many are being helped by God through this ministry. Joseph's strong passion is for the salvation, deliverance and discipleship of all mankind. He acts in the entire five-fold ministry gifts and is mainly a pastor with the divine anointing of an firing evangelist. He ministers around the world upon official invitation.
